BOOK CLUB

Every first Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm we creep inside Cocoa to drink tea, eat cake and talk books. This started over two years ago now, mainly as I (Anne) wanted some motivation to finish a book as I am really bad at starting them and giving up. We have a good turn out of all sorts of people, all friendly and a lot of people brave it alone so don't be scared to try it out. It's free to come but if you want a cup of hot chocolate and a treat the cafe is open to indulge. What I love about book club is that people turn up even if they hated the book and are still glad they read it, it's more of an informal chat about what we think, a chance to try something new and meet new people.

To pick the first list I left some paper in the cafe asking customers to suggest books they would like to read if we had a book club, then at the first club we started with a vote and the most popular 12 books made our list. So we now have a brand new list for the next year or so, see if any of these books take your fancy.
